PennBoys is a group of 12-16 golfers.  The core members are retirees from various departments of the Finance Division of Alcoa, many of whom have played golf together for 30+ years. Additional members are friends and acquaintances.

The PennBoys play golf every Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting, April through November. In the winter months, December - March, if the temperature will be in the mid-40's or above, chances are the hardy will play, regardless of the day of the week.

PennBoys is not a league and thus there are no league standings or pre-determined competitions. 

In the months of May, June, July, August, September and October, an overnighter is scheduled, usually the 3rd Monday & Tuesday of the month, and is normally limited to 16 players. For these outings, an entry fee is charged and special competitions are conducted. The format usually includes individual low net - front, back and total (using actual handicaps based on indexes updated each month) and closest-to-the-pin on par 3's. 2 and 4 man team competitions were included pre-Covid.
